Jesus Christ is Risen!
“And the angel answered and said unto the women, Fear not ye: for I know that ye seek Jesus, which was crucified. He is not here: for he is risen, as he said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay.” — Matthew 28:5-6
At Bible Baptist Church, we not only celebrate the Christmas Season, but we also celebrate the Resurrection Season. I do not believe there is anything wrong with celebrating the Christmas Season as long as we remember it is the remembrance of Christ’s birth and not the season for Santa or for materialism.
However, the Bible never instructs the followers of Jesus to remember His birth. The Bible does instruct us to remember His death until He comes. 1 Corinthians 11:24-26 says
“And when he had given thanks, he brake it, and said, Take, eat: this is my body, which is broken for you: this do in remembrance of me. After the same manner also he took the cup, when he had supped, saying, This cup is the new testament in my blood: this do ye, as oft as ye drink it, in remembrance of me. For as often as ye eat this bread, and drink this cup, ye do shew the Lord’s death till he come.”
Even though we love to celebrate the birth of Christ at Christmas, let us not forget that the most important event was not so much that Jesus was born, but that He died for the sins of the whole world and rose again, victorious over death and the grave.
On behalf of the family of Bible Baptist church, let me invite you to come worship with us this Sunday (Palm Sunday) and Easter Sunday as well!
God bless you!
