Recently, Bible Baptist Church has experienced some very unexpected changes. Pastor Bryan Baggett and his wife Kris had ministered here for just over 10 years. After having served the Lord as missionaries in Venezuela and subsequently in a church in Michigan, he was called to come back here to pastor the church where he was raised. Bible Baptist truly experienced the blessings of the Lord under Pastor Baggett’s leadership.
Last September during our annual Missions Conference, Pastor Baggett was praying the Lord would call someone from our church family into missions. Little did he know that God would once again bring that call to him. He and his wife surrendered to reenter missionary service with Baptist International Missions, Inc. Soon after, he announced this to the church and tenured his resignation, effective December 31.
Beginning January 1, 2019, Pastor Baggett not only began deputation to raise support, but he actually began his service with BIMI, ministering to military churches around the world. At that time, I stepped into the role of the interim pastor of Bible Baptist Church. Words cannot begin to express how much we will miss the Baggetts! They have left a big hole in this ministry. However, we also couldn’t be more excited to contemplate what great things the Lord will continue to do here as we keep our focus on pleasing Him!
During the time when our church family was trying to grow accustomed to the idea of the Baggetts being gone, (we’re still working on that!) someone commented that all would be well because “the Lord sees the big picture.” Although that is a very true statement, I was struck with the truth that the Lord not only sees the big picture, He is the One Who painted it! Through the transition, the Lord is showing Himself strong in so many ways.
If you do not have a good church home of your own, please allow me to extend to you a very warm-hearted invitation to come worship with us and see all that the Lord is doing at Bible Baptist Church of Clarksville.
A Message from the exiting Pastor, Bryan Baggett:
Since November of 2008, God has blessed me with the wonderful privilege to serve as the Senior Pastor of Bible Baptist Church. We have seen God richly bless and build His church. In September of last year, the Lord moved upon my heart to return to full-time missions. It was a very difficult decision in many ways to leave our church, not because of my position, but because this church is our family. You will never find such a compassionate, loving, kind and Christ-following group of people. They would welcome you and your family with open arms.
Almost four years ago, I asked the Roger Powell family to join us on staff at BBC. With his vast expanse of ministry experience, he was willing to tackle new responsibilities as well as help our congregation to excel in our music and discipleship ministries. I am thrilled that he and his wife were willing to take the helm at Bible Baptist Church and help in the transition of our departure. Their entire family has a heart for God and a desire to see others grow in Christ.
I would highly recommend that you visit our church and see for yourself what a wonderful place it is.
