Psalm 33:12 Blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD; and the people whom he hath chosen for his own inheritance.

I love America. I am thankful for America and our freedoms and our prosperity and all of the blessings that liberty affords.

But we must ask ourselves this question . . . how much longer do we think that God will put up with America’s idolatry, infidelity, abject wickedness and, as it were, shaking our fist in His face?

When America as a nation openly embraces behavior that God says is an abomination to Him, how can we think that His judgment is not far off? I have heard some say of our current and past commanders in chief that if they didn’t change their ways, surely God would bring judgment upon America. The truth is that it is likely that these are PART of God’s judgment upon America.

The Bible is very clear about what happens when people turn away from God.

Psalm 9:17 The wicked shall be turned into hell, and all the nations that forget God.

Proverbs 14:34 Righteousness exalteth a nation: but sin is a reproach to any people.

Based on what we see in God’s Word and what we learn from history about the rise and fall of nations, the picture is very bleak for our Blessed Land.

However, I also am very encouraged by some things that I see in the Word of God. There are principles that lead me to believe that we can actually see a wide-scale revival among God’s children and an awakening among the loss of our country.

What can you and I do that will be of help to our nation spiritually?
